Note to Conservatives Stamp by Mistress-Blood Note to Conservatives Stamp by Mistress-Blood
The idea is entirely =JoyWillCome's. I only animated the stamp for her. This is her description. Hope you like it, Joy! :D

"Lately there's been a lot of talk about the Republican party "moderating," and abandoning social Conservative views because they're "lost causes." Generally this advice is given by Democrats, or Republicans so far to the left that they might as well be Democrats.

OF COURSE they want us to move more to the left. Just like Conservatives would want liberals to move more to the right. People who believe one way want other people to vote that way. It's common sense.

Basically, we were told by LIBERALS that they would be most afraid of John McCain. So we ran John McCain. And look how unenthusiastic everyone was about him. I know of quite a few people who weren't even going to vote this election because they felt we were screwed either way. But look at what happened when Sarah Palin was picked as the VP pick. The base WORSHIPED her. People finally got active and passionate about the election. The point is, liberals are going to give us advice that benefits them, not us. STOP TAKING IT. If we give up on issues, they win."

Caesar's relates an unfortunate event in his "Commentaries".  One of his Legions was surrounded by some rebellious Gauls and Germanic tribesmen.  The Legion's commander was coaxed out of his protective position with false assurances.  The entire Legion was massacred.  Caesar's conclusion was that one should not take advice from one's enemies.  Your friend is right, it's a mistake Republicans keep making, following "reasonable" advice from liberal pundits, journalists and academics.  It's always a trapdoor.

I honestly think the best idea is not to go completely in one direction and take advice from both sides. Separation begets more separation. Civil war anyone?

I still say you guys need a democrublican party. That way you have a nice mixture of conservative and democratic ideology... But that's just a pipe dream.

Though I agree, even though I'm a Democrat (US)/NDP (Canada) supporter, I do think that it's kind of idiotic for someone to be taking advice from their opponents.

Why do you cling so fervently to 'conservative' or 'liberal' labels?

There's a whole spectrum of political beliefs who all should listen to what the other has to say- that's sort of the backbone of America's policies, you know. Compromise and all that.

I'm not in favor of the idea of "Let's unite the country more by splitting it further!" If you do not like something about a certain political party, it'd simply be easier to change one than to go off on your own and hope you will get more people than the other the parties. That's partially why McCain lost the election, because people who would normally vote Republican went off and made their own political parties. It doesn't help anyone.

This so applies to Canada.

The Liberals are pestering the conservative to have a 13% tax on everything; because Liberals here just love to fucking tax us.

Don't those silly Liberals realize that paychecks are for workers?

The Republican party is an emaciated beast of burden on its last labored breaths trying to carry the canvas of a big tent.

It's about time for a sincere rightist replacement and the Republicans to join their Federalist and Whig ancestors.

Liberals can listen, maybe a bit too much for their own good. As long as you won't call them babykilling commie perverted heathens, they might actually hear what you have to say.

In the sixties, the conservatives were called the "baby-killers" for being in the army, and women who joined the army were called the "rug-lickers" and "dykes." You can ask my mother that, seeing how she was a first lieutenant in the army back then.

Anyways, conservatives will listen to other fine and dandy. The only problem is we are often the ones being talked down to by being called hateful, homophobic, racist, hate-mongers, rednecks, clansmen, etc. etc. etc. There's even a new one... "tea-baggers." So seeing how the other side throws around names just as much, if not more, no one really has the right to say "we're the loving, peaceful, tolerant side." Get it?

lol @ judging all liberals from one minority... that was only referring to those who cause war crimes like in Mai Lai and the Tiger Force anyway. The Okinawa rapes and the bombs were pretty fresh then too.
And homophobic slurs are from the Right's territory, case in point.

And yeah you may not want to see it, but liberals are tolerant and listeners.
But don't get too shocked when they'll call you a hateful homophobe when you tell them 'you suck and love killing babies or screwing someone of the same sex in a public bathroom' and other good stuff.

What's so bad with 'tea-baggers'? Conservatives call it tea bag party themselves. Where they do amusing and classy stuff like these

Yeah yeah yeah... I'm a horrible person for having a different opinion and "tea-baggers" are horrible people for getting passionate at their protests... like liberals did here. [link] Class act. So much for being "tolerant" of a wavering opinion.

Ah, sweet liberal "tolerance" and "listening." But seriously, all sarcasm aside, the lunatic fringe is on both sides. However, for some reason, liberals can parade themselves as the party of peace and tolerance but are really only tolerant of their own opinion. You go ahead and ask any conservative artist in Hollywood or the media just how "tolerated" they are when they try to discuss Obama's policies in a civil manner. Or better yet, go ask a black Republican just how "tolerated" they are by other African Americans. Things get ugly when race gets thrown into the mix, trust me.

You are even a good example of this. To you, my opinions were not worth overlooking or tolerating because I'm hateful and intolerant. So you have to come over here and make a sarcastic comment on one of my stamps to give you a "mightier than thou" feeling about your own beliefs. So really, I'm just firing back with your own medicine.

Keep in mind, sweet cheeks, that that was my first stamp a long time ago when conservatism on here was like Obama's experience in politics... nonexistent. So being the young rabble rouser I was back then, I posted a stamp with a biting satire on it, seeing how the left made good use of portraying the right as stupid, homophobic rednecks in more than a few liberally swaying deviations. Since then, my approach has changed as you can clearly see by my more recent stamps, which you obviously didn't take into account because it would have been detrimental to your unintelligent comeback. So clearly, you've made no real long-standing point. Sorry.

I find it depressing that there's an "us" and a "them" between liberals and conservatives. It's like it's a war.

I'm weird politically- environmentalist, socially liberal, fiscally moderate, want limited government BUT think people are so freaking stupid they might actually need one, and agnostic. XD so I don't even have a party.

I think its sad too. But the real fact is that in general, it's left brain versus right brain. And since that is just a part of our human nature to be one way, another, or a balance in between, there will always be political differences since logic and emotion are a huge part of politics.

That's right, kids! Listen to exactly what the media tells you! Because as we all know, Hollywood and the world of journalism are the cleanest, most non-corrupt industries out there. YEAH! We should just be ignorant to how people feel about things, and listen to the corrupt capitalistic ideas of the conservatives! Becauase they are always correct when they start pointless wars and get themselves up to their assholes in debt! We should only listen to Bill O'Reilly and his forged information!

Ooooo, let's see. Pointless wars? Hmmm, yeah only Republicans have started those. Like Kennedy starting the Vietnam War and LBJ keeping us in it! Oh wait, they were Democrats. Oh, and Richard Nixon, as bad as he was, got us out of it and he was a Republican! Oh my gosh, how can this be?

And in the defense of most conservative journalists, they have so many leftist reporters, column writers, talk show hosts, blog writers, etc. listening to every word they say that it would be incredibly hard to stay on the air if all their information was "forged." Or did your beloved Keith Olbermann tell you Bill O'Reilly's number one rated news program was based on "forged" information? Because that makes it all better, doesn't it?

Oh, and Obama has currently spent more money than Reagan, Bush Senior, Clinton, and Bush Jr. combined. So who's the asshole putting us in more debt?
